I was driving home after a day of twenty or so coaching calls and thinking of how working with the best realtors in the world is both exciting and challenging. They are like everyone else; they have good days and not so good days. This brought me to a couple of conclusions. First, why are the people we work with superstars? Business is going on and moving ahead. There are house sales everyday, yet some people spend their time and their thought process thinking about how good it should be or how great it was. The reality is the business is still good. Many people we coach continue to make millions of dollars. They have realized that they have to get back into the business, roll up their sleeves and make it happen. They have had to let some people go because they could not get these people to understand that they have to work. Many people got into the business when it was a no brainier. You showed up and you made money; now you have to work. They have had to cut expenses and work hard on keeping a positive mindset. Some people are actually doing and paying for more coaching during this time because of the value it brings to their businesses. They have a PLAN and continually adjust it and make it work for them. They have looked at the detail of every part of their business. They have a budget and are operating their business as a true business. The final point on this is they have not let themselves get into complacency. They are versatile and don’t let emotions drive the business, good facts and figures do.

They are true business superstars!

Too many employees nowadays are working themselves, literally, to death and for what? To have the most, and the best, of what life has to offer. They strive for a better car than their neighbor or co-worker, the biggest house on the block, and the most expensive suits or clothes. Our families are getting lost in the shuffle and our health insurance rates are skyrocketing. All in the name of competition, power and consumption.

Drip Campaigns…Good Business or Just Drippy?
Diagnosis:  Your email drip campaigns are not effective.Symptoms:  The recipients of your drip email campaigns delete them, or -  worse - they ask to be removed from the campaign, causing you a loss of direct contact with your potential clients.  You fear you may be losing your potential clients to the competition.

Creating Client Relationships…Over the Internet
One of my favorite activities is to watch salespeople develop rapport and secure a client. As an outsider, who is basically a fly on the wall, watching these interactions I am always interested in these salespeople’s skills and how they go about their business.

FREE tools that allow you to spy on your competition
Before I jump into this post, let me first give you a little backstory of how this post came about… It all started when I added a comment to a post about the amount of website traffic a site receives. The comment stream had a very good discussion on how to gage someone else’s website traffic. I threw out Alexa as one resource to compare websites. Admittedly, I have not done much reconnaissance on my competition but I have used Alexa in the past to compare sites. And while I would never trust the numbers (because even I know ways to exploit the data) I have used it to look at trends between two sites. That is, until Jeff Turner came back with an interesting post about Alexa.

Time Management
Sure, you’d probably admit that you should manage your time better.  Most of us would!  The actual statistics on wasted time, though, are really shocking. Time management is a critical issue facing businesses and individuals alike.
